Hi, I am David, some call me “Butzi”. I have ALWAYS loved cars. My father is a car guy and I can safely say he started all of this with Matchbox cars, my first go-kart, spirited drives in our GTI & a lifetime subscription to VW & Porsche Magazine - now known as European Car!
I started working with my uncle Angelo at his very successful automotive shop in Norwalk, CT when I was 16, but even before that I was watching, learning & helping him as a young boy. He and my father fueled my love for cars, driving and motorsport. While working with my uncle I honed my skills and began to build and show Volkswagens & Audis. I was very successful on the East Coast show circuit and my style and high level of craftsmanship was noticed by friends, fellow enthusiasts & show officials around the CT Tri-State area. I continued working on and building cars for friends and other enthusiasts. Before I knew it perfect strangers became clients, clients became friends and the need for my own shop space was upon me.
Enter Butzi Gear! Over 11 years ago I decided to focus on my love and passion for building & customizing Porsche automobiles, with a strong concentration on 80s & 90s 911s as well as the 996 & 997 chassis. Butzi Gear is a brand that I hold dear to me. It is something that I always wanted to do. It is a place and brand that I continue to build and improve everyday. In this industry there is so much misinformation and people that put the dollar before their client's best interest. I started Butzi Gear to do it all a bit differently... to share my knowledge and experience, to work with others that share my passion and love for cars and to help anyone I can to do it right. I’ve been servicing clients in CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD, MA, RI, FL, CA, TX and worldwide for over 25 years. I absolutely love what I do and the clients and friends that I work with on a daily basis. I am extremely grateful for everyone's support and I look forward to working with you and your friends in the future! Cheers!
